I am a traveller who loves to write, and a writer who loves to travel. I’m a traveller who nurses a fear of flying and a writer who flies within his deadlines. My writing life began with scripts for satirical theatre revues in my 20s, encompassed years of tender responses, creative and marketing pieces, and along the way, travelers tales for the enjoyment of friends and family.

My writing reflects my recent working life which has been defined by books and writing. I established Sydney’s iconic Better Read Than Dead bookstore two decades ago, and now I amuse myself by helping out in other people’s bookstores. I’m an avid reader, a reviewer of books, particularly of slashy crime fiction which you’ll find on various websites.

My blog details recent travels, all distilled through the slightly snarky and jaundiced eye of a former bookseller with a dodgy knee.
